Job Description:

Head Start is seeking employees to join a fun work atmosphere in our family-oriented program!!

Part-time Para-Professional needed for the Grand Island Head Start for the 2024-2025 school year. Wage is $14.93 per hour with a $1.00 pay differential for those with an A.A. in ECE Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education Preferred. Benefits include paid time off and ongoing training opportunities available.

Bilingual applicants are highly encouraged to apply.

The Para-Professional is responsible for working in a team environment to assist the Teacher and classroom employees in providing support for educational activities, meals, classroom management, and other classroom activities in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards.

  • Utilize developmentally appropriate classroom activities for children.
  • Encourage parents to participate in the program in a variety of ways that fit their skills and time. Collect in-kind related to this participation.
  • Enter GOLD observations resulting in a minimum of one anecdote per child per item each period.
  • Assist families in a variety of ways including but not limited to; connecting with resources, making referrals, sharing information about their child’s day, translating documents, and interpreting.

Job Type: Part-time 24 hours per week
