Pregnant Mothers

Pregnancy Support is Available

Our services to expectant families are intentionally focused on serving these families through comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care, support, and prenatal education. Through this approach our team which consists of education, health, nutrition, and family services emphasizes support, nurturing, and responsive practices, interactions, and environments that foster trust. We build a communication-rich experience, promote critical thinking and problem-solving, provide supportive feedback for learning, motivate continued effort, and ensure the facilitation of services that are inclusive and respectful of diversity and supports engagement in learning experiences and activities. Our services to expectant families are provided through our Home Base Program, where families receive a 45 minute home visit from a home educator, twice a month. During the home visit, families can expect to receive individualized services with an education focus on:

  • Pre and Post-Natal education and development
  • The importance of nutrition
  • Oral Health
  • Risk Factors: The effects of alcohol, drugs, smoking
  • Breastfeeding
  • Infant Care/Responsive Caregiving
  • SIDS/Safe Sleeping Practices
  • Labor and Delivery
  • Fetal Development
  • Substance Abuse
  • Smoking
  • Fetal Alcohol Syndrome
  • Mental Health
  • Postpartum/Parental Depression
  • Emotional well-being
  • Early Childhood Development
  • Fatherhood/Partner Involvement

Our goal is that through prenatal education and support, pregnant women are able to plan for their birth experience and develop effective parenting skills and newborn care. We look forward to serving you.
