Job Description:

Head Start is seeking a full-time, year round, classroom area coordinator for our Grand Island center. Salary is $52,000-$62,000. Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field. Applicant must also have experience supervising staff.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee the program activities of employees, children, and families at the Hall County Head Start facility.
  • Supervise staff and volunteers including hiring, scheduling, approving time sheets and PTO requests, training, and addressing staff performance issues. Conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Oversee materials, ensure compliance with documentation requirements, including completeness and timeliness.
  • Assist Specialists and Administrators to address issues and concerns immediately. Work cooperatively and effectively with Specialists, other staff, volunteers, and parents.
  • In cooperation with the Hall County Assistant Area Coordinator, oversee deadlines and paperwork requirements of staff, monitor requirements of the children in the program, including attendance, health, and educational needs.
  • Oversee recruitment activities appropriate to the community to encourage qualified children and parents to participate in the Head Start and Early Head Start, maintain a waitlist and full enrollment.
  • In cooperation with the agencies Safety and Properties Coordinator, monitor use of equipment, vehicles, and building needs.
  • Become knowledgeable of curriculum and assist in completing informal classroom observations and fidelity checklists as needed.

Full-time, preschool Para-Professionals needed for Franklin public schools/Head Start. 40 hours/week. Wage is $15.13 per hour with a $1.00 pay differential for those with an A.A. in ECE. Applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education Preferred. Benefits include paid time off and on going training opportunities available.

Job Responsibilities

The Para-Professional is responsible for working in a team environment to assist the Teacher and classroom employees in providing support for educational activities, meals, classroom management, and other classroom activities in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards.

  • Utilize developmentally appropriate classroom activities for children.
  • Encourage parents to participate in the program in a variety of ways that fit their skills and time. Collect in-kind related to this participation.
  • Assist families in a variety of ways including but not limited to; connecting with resources, making referrals, sharing information about their child’s day, translating documents and interpreting.

Job Description:

Part-time cleaning/janitorial assistant needed for the Grand Island Head Start. This is a part-time position, 20 hours/week. Applicant must have a high school diploma or GED.

Job Responsibilities
  • The Janitorial Assistant is responsible for the cleaning of the physical facility utilized by Head Start and other programs of the organization.
  • Make sure that all common area floors are kept in a clean and safe condition, with major cleanings as needed throughout the year based upon type of floor and usage. Classrooms, kitchens and eating areas are routinely maintained by other staff.
  • Cleaning of restrooms.
  • Empty waste baskets and kitchen garbage daily or as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
